According to Warrenton Police Chief John Younts, one suspect is in custody following a break-in at a local ABC Store on Monday night. Chief Younts responded to the store's alarm signal at approximately 12:00 a.m., and he witnessed Randall Powell, 16, leap from the ABC Store's front windows. The teenager was gripping liquor bottles as he fled the scene, and headed through the woods.
Chief Younts located Powell near F&M Trailer Park, and has since been charged with two felonies. One for breaking and entering, and one for larceny. More arrests are expected, and the remaining participants are expected to face the same charges. Powell is currently under his mother's custody, and is due to appear in court on July 1st.
Thanks to the alarm system installed in the retail store, the proper authorities were quickly notified to the potential threat. The ABC Store, despite broken glass, has maintained regular business hours. With the help of the Sherriff's Office, the retail store has temporarily boarded-up its broken window.
