Detects carbon monoxide buildup in your home before it reaches dangerous levels
In small doses, carbon monoxide (CO) is harmless. In high concentrations, however, it can quickly become harmful—even deadly. But here’s the real problem: carbon monoxide is colorless, odorless, and tasteless. That means you can’t see it, you can’t smell it, and you can’t detect it. Not without help. hat’s where a carbon monoxide detector comes in.
This top-of-the-line device will alert you and your loved ones before the carbon monoxide in your home reaches dangerous levels, so you can get out and get to safety. And with 24-hour ADT monitoring, you can rest assured that a security specialist will be notified and contact emergency services in your area, even if you can’t. Call ADT at 1-833-366-1291 today to speak with a home security specialist and to get your FREE home security quote.
Your carbon monoxide alarm from ADT constantly scans the air in your living space for CO buildup. If it detects 70 parts per million (PPM) or more, the alarm will go off, and it will send a signal to your security system’s control panel to alert a representative at one of six ADT monitoring centers nationwide. The first symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning appear at 100 PPM, so you’ll hear the alarm and a monitoring center will be notified well before your family is in danger.
Unlike other store-bought carbon monoxide detectors that merely beep when they sense too much carbon monoxide, this device integrates with your home security system to alert a 24-hour ADT monitoring center immediately, even if you can’t hear the alarm when it goes off. Good luck missing it though. Measuring 85 decibels at a distance of 10 feet, the alarm signal is almost sure to reach every corner of your home. Your device also includes four LED indicators, so you can check its status anytime.
Each ADT monitored home security package comes standard with 24-hour monitoring by real people, not robots. This means every time you call you’ll get a quick answer from an actual person, not a recording, and they’ll stay on the line with you until your issue is resolved. Landline and wireless CellGuard® monitoring packages available.
Why is my carbon monoxide detector beeping?
If your carbon monoxide detector or your ADT monitored security system is beeping or chirping, that may mean there’s been a power outage or your device has a low battery. If in doubt, contact an ADT representative immediately for further assistance.
How long does my carbon monoxide detector last?
Similar to other carbon monoxide detectors, your carbon monoxide detector from ADT should last approximately four to five years. Your detector also comes with an end-of-life indicator, so you know when it’s time to replace it.
How can I test my carbon monoxide detector?
On the main control panel of your ADT monitored home security system, select Walk Test, then Sensors Test. Press and hold the Test button on your carbon monoxide alarm for a few seconds, and the alarm should sound.
If the alarm bell does not sound, take the following steps:
Double-check the batteries to make sure they’re properly installed and wait 15 seconds
Hold the Test button down firmly for at least 5 seconds
Make sure the device is properly mounted
Replace batteries if there is still no response
If after the above steps your alarm still does not sound, contact ADT immediately.
Who installs my carbon monoxide detector?
When you sign up for an ADT monitored home security package, a qualified technician will schedule a time to come to your home and install your system, including your carbon monoxide monitor.
