Biking to work has been a fashionable commuting option for several decades in the Emerald City. Because of the continued growth of the city, traffic is a nightmare, even by LA standards. Biking is not only more environmentally responsible—it is quicker than driving in many cases. So trade that car in for a decent bike, and don't get stuck in traffic again.

If you are moving from a sunnier, warmer climate, be sure to invest in sweaters, rain coats and an umbrella. It rains 150 days or so out of the year. While the rain is typically a light shower, if you are used to less clouds and more heat, it will take you a moment to adjust to the weather.
