Or scope out the Art Station to see paintings from local artists. While you're in the neighborhood, don't forget to pay a visit to Ponchatoula's local celebrity—Ole Hardhide. Oh, did we mention he's an alligator?

For a taste of local history, check out the Collinswood School Museum, where you can see different artifacts and learn a little about the history of the region. You can also take the family to the Strawberry Train, a steam engine converted into a play area—kids are sure to love it!

There are also two seasonal events you won't want to miss in Ponchatoula: The Strawberry Festival, held every April, is one of the biggest events in Louisiana. Then, in the fall, get ready for a big Oktoberfest celebration—this event is sure to surprise you!
