When you think Super Bowl, you think football, food, fun, family, friends and advertisements. But do you think of the word “security” when you hear Super Bowl? Neither do I. Unbeknownst to me, the unseen security measures taken at the Super Bowl are no joke! Did you know that more than 70 local, state, and federal agencies worked together alongside the NFL Security to ensure that the city was safe during this year’s game in New Orleans?
In addition, a temporary flight restriction zone prohibited any aircraft from flying within 30 miles of the Mercedes-Benz SuperDome on SuperBowl Sunday. With over 4,000 private security guards, metal detectors, and x-ray machines, fans were scanned and patted down to ensure the utmost safety.
